Birmingham (U.K.) was the workshop of the world, the city of a 1000 trades with wide ranging products from a pin to an anchor. The web site records some of the forgotten services and industries that made Birmingham a world leader, as well as some of the well known industries and services that still exist within the city today. The web site was started on March 22nd 2005 If you are interested in any way in Birmingham Industrial history, please join us! Eventually this group will be the basis for the start of The Birmingham Industrial History Society which will form in 2007.

More than 6,000 people gathered at Millennium Point to take part in Sport Relief Saturday under the blazing sun. From the Start at Millennium Point the milers headed down Curzon Street, onto Moor Street Queensway before turning towards the finish line. Milers were joined by a whole host of famous faces including Sir Steve Redgrave, Jane Sixsmith, Sir Digby Jones. Vbrum
