Jasper Carrect became the second artist to receive a star on the Walk of Stars in his native Birmingham. The comedian, from Acocks Green, in front of more than 10,000 people at Artfest declared himself a 'very proud brummie' and Birmingham is the Best place in the world to live. Noddy Holder MBE is to be the next star inducted onto the Walk of Stars, Broad Street. The ceremony will take place on Sunday 9th December 2007 from 5pm during the Broad Street Christmas Canal Boat Parade, from Brindleyplace to The Mailbox
This year's Birmingham Pride theme was 'United in Equality' and took place in the city's Gay Village over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
The Council of Sikh Gurdwaras in Birmingham marks this religious and festive period every year, holding the largest Vaisakhi Open Air Celebration outside India, attracting over 65,000 people to the event held in Handsworth Birmingham. People from all faiths joined in to celebrate the gift of life and peaceful co-existence.
